Players who play AA too aggressivley
I play NLHE .50/1 on Poker Stars, and I've noticed alot of players will be hyper aggressive with AA. Ive seen 6x+BB raises in unopened pots and HUGE re-raises. Then larger than pot bets on flop turn and river with scarecards!
My question is, what % does a hand like 23o have of flopping two pair? Also, Would it be profitable to call a 5x BB raise with any two cards if you are 100% sure your opponent has AA, and will get all his chips in the pot on the turn? (assuming you flopped two pair) |

Re: Players who play AA too aggressivley
That depends on how deep your stack is. The deeper, the more inclined you should be to call. You can never have that sort of perfect knowledge though.

My question is, what % does a hand like 23o have of flopping two pair? [/ QUOTE ] About 2% of the time. Note this is the same as a hand like 34o, 45o, or KQs - the values don't matter. [ QUOTE ] Also, Would it be profitable to call a 5x BB raise with any two cards if you are 100% sure your opponent has AA, and will get all his chips in the pot on the turn? (assuming you flopped two pair) [/ QUOTE ] I'm sorry - are you asking if you should put a lot of money in when you are a sizable (3:1) favorite? Yes. You should. http://twodimes.net/h/?z=1068630 pokenum -h ad ah - 2s 3d -- 2d 3c jh Holdem Hi: 990 enumerated boards containing 3c 2d Jh cards win %win lose %lose tie %tie EV Ad Ah 268 27.07 722 72.93 0 0.00 0.271 2s 3d 722 72.93 268 27.07 0 0.00 0.729 |

What I mean is would it be profitable if every time you flopped two pair or trips, and were able to get your chips in on the flop against AA, could that be profitable/

What I mean is would it be profitable if every time you flopped two pair or trips, and were able to get your chips in on the flop against AA, could that be profitable/ [/ QUOTE ] Ok - my answer is just as it was before: yes. You are about a 3:1 favorite over AA if you flop two pair. You are about a 9:1 favorite over AA if you flop trips. So, yes, it would be [ QUOTE ] profitable if every time you flopped two pair or trips, and were able to get your chips in on the flop against AA [/ QUOTE ] - you're a ginormous favorite. |

Re: Players who play AA too aggressivley
Thats not what hes saying.
Hes asking if it will be profitable to call a 5x BB preflop raise if he knows that, in the event that he does flop two pair, aces will call an all in post flop. The answer depends on how deep the stacks are. |

Re: Players who play AA too aggressivley
Disconnected, offsuit hands with no ace outflop AA about 3.6% of the time. This does not count straight-flush draws or a pair plus flush draw, as your opponent may have a higher flush draw. It also excludes the times you flop 2-pair or trips, but are behind a set or full house.
When a trash hand outflops AA, AA has outs, and usually wins 8-25% of the time. Low pairs outflop AA much more frequently, 11.2% of the time, and AA usually wins only 8-14% when outflopped by a low pair. |

And be sure to wait to get your chips in on the river to make sure the board doesn't pair.

Re: Players who play AA too aggressivley
If the numbers previous posters came up with are correct, you and your opponent would both need to have stacks over about $165 with .5/1 blinds to have very good odds to call.
