Default KK Late Position

Been at the table for about 15 hands. BB hadn't played a single hand in that time (and he's got a large stack). How did I play this?

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (9 handed) converter

MP1 ($30.2)
MP2 ($21)
Hero ($33.45)
CO ($52.7)
Button ($22.95)
SB ($48.86)
BB ($181.75)
UTG ($30.4)
UTG+1 ($38.65)

Preflop: Hero is MP3 with K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $0.25.
UTG calls $0.50, 1 fold, MP1 calls $0.50, 1 fold, Hero raises to $3, 2 folds, BB calls $2.50, 1 fold, MP1 calls $2.50.

Flop: ($9.75) 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (4 players)
BB checks, MP1 bets $0.5, Hero raises to $10, BB calls $10, MP1 folds.

Turn: ($30.25) 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players)
BB checks, Hero ...

I'm not at all sure about this, but I would push here. You've got $20 left, there's $30 in the pot, so any bet other than pushing doesn't make sense to me. Either that, or be prepared to check behind and fold to a bet on the river if an A comes, which you're not going to want to do. Interested to see other answers.

Check behind and call a bet on the river. If you bet the turn, he is only going to call if you are behind. And a free card here can only help you. It is very unlikely that he has the naked A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] here. Either you are behind to a straight (not too likely), a flush (most likely), or a set (unlikely), or you are ahead and he will fold to a bet (probably most likely). If you are ahead, giving a free card can't be too terrible since you probably have the best draw in addition to the best hand, unless he has the naked A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] which doesn't seem too likely (because what would he be calling your flop bet with?). So I would check behind and hope to induce a bluff on the river. If he checks again, just check behind again. He isn't going to call another bet on this scary board if he is behind.

you should definitely check the turn. you said yourself that the bb had not played a hand in the 15 hands that you were there. The only thing he would call a pot sized bet on the flop with is a set, an overpair jacks or better, or a flush draw. He either has you beat with a set, caught his flush on the turn, or your kings are still dominating, especially if he has a club with his overpair as well. If river is blank and he checks to you, probably just check it. It will be tough to get a call from inferior hand.

I checked behind on the turn. River brought a another six. He checked to me and I checked.

He showed AT of clubs and won the pot.

Thanks for the responses. It felt weak checking behind both times but I was fairly certain he had a flush. The check/call with the flop made me suspect he didn't have a set. I would've expected him to protect it with a raise.
