Quest for Royal flush Club
So for no particular reason I am going to take a run at getting Empire Royal Flush status this month. I know this has been discussed at length many times but I can't seem to find the post's. Any way I know the basics, any do's and don't's of big day accumualations. I am not a usual tourney player.

Re: Quest for Royal flush Club
It's MTT's (not MMT SNG's which only count as SNG's which aren't as good).
the tourneys need to be 9+1 or higher. so you shouldn't bother with the 5+1's or 1+0's because you don't get any points for those (to my knowledge). The satellites (like the 27+2's) are pretty good for these since they have smaller fields and go a bit faster. If you don't want the entry to the bigger event then sign-up for that bigger event BEFORE you win. Then, when you win the seat, they SHOULD refund it to you in cash (since you are already registered). Then, unregister from the bigger tourney. Pretty sure you will get all of your cash back...but you might get stuck with a freeroll for this event that you can use on that event at any time (for example, I had 2 freerolls for the end-of-the-month $200k guaranteed...this was before I thought of registering for the big event first to just get the money back). Don't get impatient when it is a 2-table tourney and goes to hand-for-hand right-away even if it only pays to 1 or 2 spots. It's stupid....and will put some of your opponents on total monkey-tilt. Just sit-back and wait for the next hand. Think of the delay as a commercial. Pay attention to the chat and see if one of your opponents is SO frustrated that he no longer cares whether he wins or loses the tourney. Remember that the END of the tourney is what matters time-wise. A tourney that starts at 10p and ends after midnight will count for the NEXT day. With all of this....if you already have 5k points (because you get double-points then): 10 MTT's = about 275 points (10X10 = 100....plus another 75 or so for entry-fees) 15 MTT's = about 550 points 20 MTT's = about 900 points 25 MTT's = about 1400 points One other note - I'm not sure if signing-up for an event that doesn't get started counts for you or not. For example, I signed-up for a 100+9 yesterday at 4am or so and I was the only one. no idea whether I get points or not for that. Haven't bothered to check. The 100+9's with a smallish field are less to be afraid of then you might think (if 100+9 is larger than you normally play) if you're decent short-handed). If you get 3 players or more then it pays to the top 3 places. So....a 100+9 that gets 3-players to sign-up will still pay to all 3 (somthing like 150/90/60) so you really aren't playing in a TRUE 100+9 because the pay-out structure is so screwy. Also - no idea how the rebuy tourneys work for VIP points. The rebuy tourneys on empire are a TOTAL joke and I just don't play them. If you enter a 30+3 with rebuys and add-on then it costs another $33 to re-buy....when it SHOULD cost $30. Empire takes an extra entry-fee out of each re-buy which is big-time -EV. If you want to try them anyway that's up to you of course. good luck on your e-points quest. |

Re: Quest for Royal flush Club
Bob,
I've been meaning to email you. Any idea about how many tournaments are possible in a 24 hour period? I'm still at only about 952 points. |
