My friend played this hand and we argued over it for a bit.
blinds 15/30 his stack at start was about 1200. hes dealt AKs EP who my friend said he perceived as solid raises to 100, my friend raises to 300, latish guy calls, EP has both covered and pushes and my friend folds. what would you have done? |

is it real bad to consider flat calling pre-flop?

I would put UTG on JJ+,AKs,AKo, and the late caller on QQ-55,AJs+,AJo+.
Assuming lp guy calls then he has 27% equity against both players(Pokerstove.) If late caller has your friend covered (you didnt say) he will be getting 3:1 which is not enough to justify a call. If the late caller folds his equity is roughly 40%. He will be getting 2.1:1 and he needs 2.5:1 so its still no good. Fold. |

And i like the call as well, but since he didnt, he's getting what like 3:1 odds w/ AK suited...i think the other caller is probably going to fold esp. if i call, i'll take my chances and call

Doesnt make much difference actually, its still a fold even if hes getting the full 3:1
