So I just got back from a four day session up at Canterbury and this hand was kind of making me think. I would really appreciate all comments. I will just post how the hand went and post my thoughts with the results. Here we go:
utg+1 raises, this means almost nothing as he has been spewing a lot of chips lately and is pretty tilted. Any suited cards, and pair, any two big ones. One good player calls in MP followed by a loose/passive player in MP, this player doesn't see to have played very much poker as he had to have posting blinds explained to him. I call two cold one off the buttom with Qh9h. Big blind comes in. Flop comes KQJ with one heart. utg bets. MP1 folds. MP2 calls. I call. BB folds. Turn is a 9 for a board of KQJ9 rainbow. utg+1 checks. MP bets. I call. utg+1 calls. River is a 5 for a board of KQJ95. utg+1 checks, MP bets. I call. utg+1 calls. How did I do? |

utg+1 showed AK, MP showed 95...My Q9 is good.
Now for my thought process, which is really what I am questioning here. Preflop and flop are pretty standard here I think, especially how the game had been going. As for the turn, I don't think I can fold here. MP had no idea what he was doing and could bet a large number of hands. I didn't raise because I think if I call utg+1 will come along too, and I don't think a worse hand can call a raise on that board. Obviously if utg shows any aggression my cards hit the muck. The river has the same reasoning. What do you guys think? |
