How did I do with my 9\'s?
I'm 25th out of 225 remaining players players with the top 99 players being paid in a $5 buy-in tourney. I have a $25,000 chip stack. I'm in the big blind for $600 with a pair of 9's. The table folds around to the small blind who has been playing a relatively high number of hands and he raises to $1800 with a $13,000 stack. I call. The flop comes Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. Small blind bets another $1800 and I re-raise to $4000. He calls. Turn is 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. Small blind checks to me. I push all-in.
* Pre-flop I see him as trying to steal my blind. * When the Queen comes down I re-raise to show strength because I feel like I might still have the best hand. * On the turn when he checks I sense weakness and think I can push him off the hand with an all-in. Based on the play: 1) What hand do you put him on? 2) Will he fold? 3) Was my play overly agressive at this point in the tourney? |
