Default Marginal hand multiway

I seem to find myself in alot of multiway pots with marginal made hands when playing live, I'm not used 9 to the flop. Here's one at Commerce 4/8 where I just sat down:

3 or 4 limpers to me on the button and I raise JT[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], BB comes along ~6 to the flop for 11.5SB

7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

BB checks, EP checks, EP1 bets, MP calls, LMP calls, I raise, BB calls, EP folds, the rest call.

Turn J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (10.75BB) 5 handed

Everyone checks to me and I bet

How does it look so far?

I'd probably call the flop and raise it up on a safe looking turn.

I agree about the flop call but i think raising the turn would be wrong too. EP leads into hero as the preflop raiser on a very coordinated board in a 6-handed pot. We have top pair/decent kicker. At very least the flop bettor has a J and we're often outkicked anyway. He could easily have 2 pairs, a set or straight. A draw won't lead the turn. And a worse J won't either. The flop bettor must have a better hand than TP J-kicker to follow through on the turn after getting 4 callers and we could be beat in many, many ways. Actually I think raising a "safe" turn would be really bad.

After the hand happened and I thought about it I was thinking a flop raise probably isn't best. I'd just call with something like KT here and this hand even with a gutshot doesn't appear to have much more equity than KT since all my outs are sketchy, plus it's less likely to be the best hand currently than KT.

Here's another one, seems to always happen with nice suited connectors on the button

4 limpers to me I have T9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] on the button, I raise, BB comes along 6 to the flop for 11SB:

7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

BB checks, UTG bets, 3 or 4 call, I call, BB calls

Turn 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (8.5BB) 5 handed

BB checks, UTG bets, folded to me and I fold. What would your play be on a 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]?

my question is: if people are that aggressive (ie betting into the PFR) is raising here a good idea? just wondering since this isn't a move i try too often...yet.

Looks good. You may likely have the best hand now, and you have 4 outs to the boat, giving you, 10.5:1. Seems perfect. I guess you could be getting c/r by the straight.

Toughie. Looks like a wait-for-the-turn situation to raise, your equity can change drastically on that turn card.

On the turn, being on the button, I'm betting if checked to, I'd really have to see the action to know if I would raise.

I could see a point with this if I were holding T9...

I'm calling this down, he could easily have a 5 or a T with a weaker kicker, or even a draw. Unless you have a read that utg is a decent player I am calling this down.
