Default Proper free showdown play?

How's this look? MP was kind of a noob and I thought the blinds would fold... hence the pfr. Standard?

Party Poker 5/10 Hold'em (6 max, 6 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is Button with 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
1 fold, MP calls, 1 fold, Hero raises, 1 fold, BB calls, MP calls.

Flop: (6.40 SB) 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players)
BB checks, MP bets, Hero calls, BB folds.

Turn: (4.20 BB) T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
MP bets, Hero raises, MP calls.

River: (8.20 BB) K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
MP checks, Hero checks.

Final Pot: 8.20 BB

i like it.

There's a slight bit of fold equity here, but that's not the main reason for doing this.

The main value comes from this:

If MP has a higher pair, he's going to continue to bet the turn and the river. This will cost you 2 BB's to call down.

If MP is only betting a draw, he'll bet the turn, but check/fold the river if he misses.

Therefore, by raising the turn, it costs you no more bets the times you're behind, but charges the draws the most when you're ahead. Plus, even if they make their draw and try to check-raise you on the river, you're simply taking the free showdown - which, according to the Fundamental Theorem of Poker, means you win/win.

(FWIW, I'd fold if 3-bet on the turn).

Is that even a read ?

Asuming loose-unknown, protect your hand on the flop, your dont want BB in.

Turnraise is fine, you have a safe fold if he 3bets, the flop call suck though.

Preflop is very very standard against about anyone with about any blinds.

I can think of another reason why protecting your hand is a good idea in this spot.
