Default More on June 18, crap slots, etc.

Staring at 4pm on Saturday June 18, Boris and I will be holding office hours at Boris' office, the bar at the Sports Book in the Bellagio. Boris will be the one with six or seven women hanging on him unless he's already tired of them and has sent them away. I will be the one muttering Vietnamese curses and tearing up tote tickets. All of you interested in predrinking, crap slots or laughing at my congenital inability to pick a winning horse, dog or midget (and I've lost on all), just look for the empty pint glasses. That will be us.

Crap Slots will begin vaguely around 4:45. Most players will be going for the MGM buffet, but higher stakes games will be available. Somebody please help us with recon: we need to know in advance where the nickel slots are so we don't waste time since the donkfest is starting early. Any between the Bellagio and MGM will do, but it would be much better if there are 6 in a row or six facing each other. It'll take a good hour to play all the games, which promise to be hilarious. Ever see a half-drunk fat guy do speed pushups in a casino? You will. Other more inventive penalties will follow. Also, heckling is encouraged, especially at the beginning of superadvanced games when players are downing their first drink. Nothing like Capn 'n Coke through the nose to start a grudge match.

Incidentally, theBruiser500 has accepted my challenge. Therefore, Team 1 will be:

Boris
felson
theBruiser500
Matt Flynn

Team 1 will play for high stakes: Delmonico's with wine. theBruiser500 and I will probably play a side pot for the wine, which is the most dangerous part unless the cigars and brandy get ugly.

btw anybody know where Delmonico's is?

Team 2 will be whoever shows of:

bakku
gaming_mouse
Klepton
jason_t
shant
uw_madtown

We will most definitely have a calcutta for that one.

Team 3 will be whoever shows of:

Justin A
GoT
NLSoldier
CatchoftheDay
Bicycle Kick
Schneids

I have no idea what's going to happen in that match, but it's a pretty good bet somebody's gonna get pregnant.

Everyone else who wants to will get to play. All teams must declare a check cap for the group in advance: if the bill exceeds the check cap then the group is collectively responsible for deciding how to pay the overs. Good tipping is mandatory unless your service or food actually suck.

And then, and then, and then the donkfest....

Matt

Thanks for organizing!

Delmonico is at Venetian.

I'd be in for the MGM buffet stakes. If another team is created, or if someone doesn't show. Hopefully I will at the very least manage to snap a few discreet photos of the action.

Is Delmonico's a LV outpost of the Delmonico's in Lower Manhattan, which I believe claims to be the oldest restaurant in the US and has really good steak?

They claim that? That's pretty lame.

Can you explain the stakes? Like If my team loses to another team, I need to buy dinner for one person on the other team? Or losing team pays for equally sized winning team?

Regardless, I'm pretty sure I'm interested. Although, I'd need to discuss a cap

I never knew Matt was so Type A. Talk about a planner. Also, I'm fat and bald so if you see me with a bunch of women you know it's because I'm running good and can afford the hourly rate.

I ordered Caesar salad for lunch there once. The waiter, a typically old crusty dude, looked at me like I asked for a pile of feces with Russian dressing.

If you lose, you buy dinner for the rest of your team. You're basically playing against your teammates, so probably team isn't the right word here. Each team is independent of all the others.

As I understand it, the teams are actually just who you are competing against. The loser has to buy dinner for everyone else on their "team", I believe.

I know Matt will correct me if I'm wrong.
