Screwplayed
3rd orbit or so, don't have much read on the villain.
He looks to be on the aggressive side, lots of bets and raises - but haven't seen his cards, he won a lut uncontested. I always fall for the flop trick. I instantly see KQ, KJs in my opponents hand and proceed to bet. Can I safely muck this turn? Re: Screwplayed
I am very confused here as well. I think laying down the turn is fine, even though occasionally we are folding the best hand. I just think it costs too much to call down.

[ QUOTE ]
what about the flop? [/ QUOTE ] I have a hard time not betting this flop. Sure we will get screwplayed a fair percentage of the time, but I think giving him a possible free card in a 6 SB pot where he may have 6 outs is bad. If you check, and he improves, you will pay dearly. If you check, and he doesn't improve, he will probably just check fold. Sure, you may get a bluff out of him sometimes, but I don't think it happens enough. |

Re: Screwplayed
OK, but in retrospect I have a real hard time putting him on a hand on the flop.
I raise UTG (or MP, 5-handed), he 3-bets in the BB showing enormous strength. The flop is excellent for any normal 3-betting hand (eg not 89T monotone), yet he checks to me. I think with KQ or KJ he would push the bet button quite quickly. Of course he could realize that the only way he wins this hand with KQ/KJ/... that he does a strange move. |

Re: Screwplayed
I check the flop and call the turn/river against an aggressive player.
I've been experimenting with this line (3-bet pf/cr flop) against decent players who can fold with various holdings because it's so hard to put me on a hand. It seems this line does 2 things for me so far: 1) Gets a lot of folds. 2) Slows down the action quickly if they don't fold. 3) Makes me appear tricky (which I am not 99% of the time). |

Re: Screwplayed
why are you so hung up on KQ or KJ? why cant it be AK? why can't it be pps less than TT? AJ? i think its a turn fold, unless you want to spend the 2 bbs to find out what he's holding (which i sometimes do, just to get a better read). but the bigger picture is not confining his hand to two options.
