Default Firing One Off For A Small Pot

Villain was loose/passive. Should I have just c/folded the turn? And was the river truly spewing chips?

I've tried this before. Betting the turn sometimes works. But when he calls, you're done. Check-fold the river. (Remember, he called the turn when he was not last to act, so he probably has you beat.)

Okay. That's what I thought. Do you think it was even worth it to take a shot on the turn? I suspect even that bet is not +EV.

It depends. Sometimes I try it when my opponents show weak-tight tendencies. It's clear nobody has an ace, and a bet from you could look like a whiffed check-raise on the flop with an ace. Plus, you have 4 gutshot outs plus your set outs, so even if you get called it's not a catastrophe. Usually I check this down but there are times when it's all right to bet the turn.

So I thought too. Villain shows down A7. Either he was weak and afraid of his kicker, or he thought this was a slowplaying hand???
