Getting them to do what you want, how do you do it?

One of the areas I have been working on a lot of late is getting other players to do what I want in a hand. Frankly it has been the most interesting and fun part of my skill advancement. I know it is a very complex subject that may not be well suited to a BBS like this, but share of your techniques, thoughts, etc on this subject.
