Why would you want to play on Paradise now??
I am writing this post in response to the one about their adding blackjack to the main lobby. For the record, although I have played on paradise in the past, I have not for some time now since I don't believe the games that I play are good at the limits I play or are offered with enough table choices.
Since as 2+2'ers, we presumably approach poker as a money-making endeavour even if not a full-time one, or are trying to improve to become winning players, then paradise's addition of blackjack to the main lobby should highly concern you if you regularly play there. Since you come to play poker and win against those who play worse and especially like to gamble on low percentage situations, why on earth would you want to continue to patronize a site that trys to suck those fish dry at blackjack or other house games instead of letting you do so while they make rake? Although they have long had a link to their sports book, as do other sites, and though it is true other sites like 24h Poker and Party have 'sister' casino sites they sometimes try to steer you to (although party's logoff spam ads seem to have stopped for the time being), Paradise is explicitly putting a non-poker house game in the main lobby, and effectively telling their winning customers who help maintain their games that they don't give a XXXX about their business. I will be the first to admit, since I make most of my money on Party as well as UB and Stars, that if any of those sites did the same tomorrow I would be hard pressed to spite myself and not play as long as the games continued to be good. But I would not continue to play at such a site if I had any effective alternative. No doubt paradise, once the largest room on the net but now just another casuality of Party's relentless marketing machine, has taken this action in response to poor earnings on poker, but it nonetheless is a slap in the face of their regular winning poker playing customers. |

Re: Why would you want to play on Paradise now??
Well, this is poorly reasoned. I don't play at Paradise, but yet there is a huge logical hole in your argument. This is it:
What about live casinos? Do they not have house games? What about poker tables? |

[/ QUOTE ] Just as I said I would not spite myself and quit a site while the games there remained good if I did NOT have an alternative (an alternative that allowed me the same money making opportunities at the levels I am used to), the same applies to B&M where you mostly don't have an alternative, either because there is only 1 casino with a poker room near you, or because there are many but of course they all have those house games. |

Re: Why would you want to play on Paradise now??
There's logic to bluff's argument.
But there's also another way to look at the possibilities. The fishy players we like are also more likely to enjoy a few hands of BJ as well as splashing around at poker. Once they know it's easy to do both at Paradise, they might prefer to spend more time ther than say Stars or Party where there's only poker. I dunno; just conjecture but I think it can work both ways. |

the REAL fish will do better with blackjack and a strategy card than they will do playing poker.
