what does \"M of #\" mean? newb question
Reading HOH and HOH2 is on my todo list. Until then, could someone please explain what "M of 8" (for example) means? An overview is fine. I just want to be able to follow these hands better. I'm guessing it has to do with your stack size relative to other stacks (or chip average). Thanks.

Re: what does \"M of #\" mean? newb question
It's your stack size over the amount in the pot after blinds/antes. I.E. if you have 1500 and the blinds are 50/100 with no ante, your M is ten.
Also - search function. |

Re: what does \"M of #\" mean? newb question
M = your stack/the cost of a round
so whatever the pot size is after all antes and blinds are in there... divided into your stack. Basically how many orbits your stack can withstand without playing a hand. Edit: and lower M's = you need to move. But get on w/ reading HOH1+2 |

Thanks.
I tried searching, but I couldn't find a simple definition (just hand histories). Probably should've searched longer.
Thanks guys! |

Searching for the letter "M" didn't turn up tons of results about this specific topic? Please think before you mindlessly tell someone to use the search function. |

Re: Thanks.
Agreed. Just because something has been discussed numerous times before doesn't mean it's easy for a new poster to find the info using the search function. I realise it might be tedious for regulars to hear the same questions asked over and over, but people are too quick to just reply "Do a search". Most of the time it isn't easy to find good searchterms that gets you the info you are after.
Might be easy for regulars who remember which posters discussed it and when, but not for new posters. |

I found another thread asking about it within a minute, it just takes some guesswork. |
