Default 99, late position, cold call?

What do you guys think about 99? Would you cold call from late position with pocket 9's? If you would, does it matter how many people are in the pot? Obvously if a very large number of opponents are in the pot, we call for set value. What about more marginal situations? What about a single raiser from late middle? How about a raise from under the gun? Im always interested in marginal situations like this...

It depends on who raised.

I hardly ever cold-call though, mostly because I'm far too macho and kick way too much ass for that bullshat.

I, on the other hand would coldcall with 3+ others already in, 3-bet sometimes, and fold sometimes... read-dependant.

Which is precisely the reason you have such an awesome avatar.

Want some? I didn't think so.

I'd cold-call 88 with a few limpers/cold-callers before me, raise 99 with the same number of players, fold with fewer. Depending on the initial raiser, of course. And my table-image. And, oh, [censored], don't forget to take into account the phase of the moon and the alignment of the other planets. Of course, if Mercury is rising, I wouldn't be playing poker at all, cuz that'd just be retarded.

I cold-call this with 2 limpers between the original raiser, or if people had limped into his raise, because there'll be plenty of dead money in the pot before the flop for me to justify it.

If he's been raising more than what is "normal", I reraise to squeeze more from the limpers.
