Default What adjustments to make going from Pot-limit to Fixed-limit O8?

I play a lot of PLO8 online and I've had good results since this summer at 2/2 and 5/5 blind levels ($200 and $500 buyin). That's just for background on my experience level, I've got a little over 4600 hands in since July 1.

In the next few weeks I'll be heading to Foxwoods most likely, and I've never played Omaha in the casino. I'm positive they don't spread PLO8 there . . . but I'd assume they do spead Limit O8.

So I'm just wondering what adjustments need to be made from Pot Limit to Limit. I haven't played very well at limit O8 in the past, but that was before my game took a step forward this summer, playing pot-limit.

I wonder if I haven't played limit well in the past because I bring a pot-limit mentality to the game? What adjustments should I make? What types of hands go up or down in value, how does play on the different streets change, etc.?

Thanks for any help!

I probably shouldn't put my two cent's worth in because I am new to the game but from other discussions, I understand that you need to play tighter in Limit than Pot Limit.

You can be a little bit freer with the nut low as getting quartered isn't as painful in PLO8.

Obviously, bluffing is much harder in LO8 and PLO8 (which is hard anyways).

I would definitely start tighter till you get a feel for the table. My limited experience with limit O8 games is they tend to be much looser than PLO8 games.

In Limit O8 you lose the ability to "control" the betting or to be controlled by the betting - i.e. no one can use betting the whole pot to manipulate a hand. So in that way you can play a little looser because you basically know exactly how much you may have to invest, but on the other hand players will call to the river more than in PL.
However, in live O8 you will really see a lot of incredible variation on what people will play. It's important to get a good feel for the table so you can decide what will fly with that group. I always start out very tight, playing only for the nuts until I see what is happening.
Good luck.

Position is not as important in limit as it is in pot limit.
You can play less aggressively.
Cooperative betting plays a bigger roll.
