I'm assuming you lay this down before the river right? Cause if you got there you have to call... I don't like raising AJ preflop generally. But i will if its folded to me in the CO or later.

TPTK hands early on I like playing extremley soft. I often times go into a check/call mode, or make small bets. You want to increase the chance of making money, but you also want to decrease the chance of going broke. (especially early on) I would have done that this hand. As it went, Im calling the river.
