Default Middle tournament situation vs a possible CO steal

You have about 6800 in chips (1000 entrants) and blinds are 200/400 with a 25 ante and they escalate every 15 minutes. Villian seems solid and you feel he could be stealing from CO. He open raises from CO to 1200 and you have 88 on button.

Do you call? FOld? Raise? If raise, how much?

In this situation I folded, but I don't have much MTT experience, is this the correct play? Villian has only been at table about 20 hands and is tight.

BONUS QUESTION: At one point should I just be pushing all in preflop, 5xBB?

I'd be happy to help if not for your amazingly anti-semitic remark in your location.
