party 5/10 AA. A different line I took
villain in hand is decent. he's not stupid or anything. that's all i know.
I decided to smoothcall his ep raise, figuring that he's marked for a big hand. you might flame me. i was experimenting here. Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (7 handed) converter BB ($942.25) UTG ($1711) MP1 ($1110.5) Hero ($960) CO ($1629) Button ($1004) SB ($333.12) Preflop: Hero is MP2 with A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $5. UTG raises to $35, 1 fold, Hero calls $35, 4 folds. Flop: ($85) 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players) UTG bets $55, Hero calls $55. raise this flop? i was waiting for a safe-ish turn. Turn: ($195) Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players) this is not a really safe turn, considering he may now have top set UTG bets $100, Hero calls $100. game plan is now to bet any river diamond, otherwise call any reasonably sized river bet. River: ($395) 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players) UTG checks, Hero bets $350, UTG folds. Final Pot: $745 Results in white below: Hero has Ad Ac (one pair, aces). Outcome: Hero wins $745. raise this flop? i was waiting for a safe-looking turn to raise like i said, this was all an experiment. comments? |

Re: party 5/10 AA. A different line I took
I hate slowplaying aces from a typical UTG raiser. Most people won't raise UTG w/out a premium hand, so raise and get value as he'll probably call you or even reraise you w/ KK. then you can then just call if you like.
as to postflop - I'd have raised the flop, but keeping the pot small was ok i guess. River bet was way too large unless villain is a donk (or you put him on something that beats you that he'll fold). |
