Late in 10.00RB on stars--what to do a preflop question?
Level is 8000/16000 blinds 24 players left 970 started. Six players away from another level in pay if that matters, and the level in pay almost doubles from 19th to 18th. You have 148,000 in chips at start of the hand.
chip leader with 580,000 in chips raises the minimium, he has been raising many hands but I have only seen group A hands from him. next player thinks for about 30 seconds and goes all in for 120000. You have no read on this player since you have not played at his/her table at all. It is folded to you in Small blind with AK off what do you do and why? Swiss Cheese |

Re: Late in 10.00RB on stars--what to do a preflop question?
Your M is a little over 6, or more likely 5 (you don't mention an ante, but there probably is one). You have AK. Hard to imagine a situation where you have AK in the red zone and don't put all your chips in. This certainly isn't one of those situations. The chip leader could have almost anything. The pusher has fewer chips than you and might see this as his last opportunity. I put his range at 77+, AJ+. Easy call/push.

Push... there are too many (potentially dead) chips in the pot and too many advantanges to the possiblity of a 20+BB stack. Always play for the top 3, it is very +EV.

I'm going for it without question. This is a very good spot.
