Play along.... street by street
I've seen this done a few times before in different forums and thought this would be a nice little exercise for some folks to try. This was only a $2 NLHE MTT, but I would hope that forum members of all skill levels would give their thoughts and reasoning for whatever play they decide to make. I will post PF action today, and with enough interest and opinions, I will post flop tomorrow...
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t100 (8 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx BB (t1630) UTG (t5535) UTG+1 (t4905) MP1 (t1190) Hero (t1480) CO (t1430) Button (t1960) SB (t1285) Preflop: Hero is MP2 with K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. 2 folds</font>, MP1 calls t100, Hero??? OK... the table is relatively loose and passive. I HAD been up to 2700 chips, but took a few beats to go down to 900, then back up to this point. Please reply with your personal preference for your action and reasons why. |

Re: Play along.... street by street
Push, You will pick up the t350 80% of time IMO, and if called will probaly be 22-JJ or KJ etc.

Re: Play along.... street by street
so...
a) there's only t250 in the pot. b) there's four players to act behind me, any of whom may have a good hand, regardless of what the limper has. c) there's no reason to put the limper on such a narrow (bad) range. loose passives get good hands too. d) we've got enough chips that we have another raise than allin here (although it makes postflop awkward, imo. i limp here, because i think a raise would be to t350 or so, and I don't like having an 850+ chip pot when i don't have enough left behind to do anything but push (especially after failing to connect). |

Re: Play along.... street by street
When I first looked at this my first thought would be raise to about t400, or there abouts. But the more I'm thinking about it, that might not be the best line. Maybe just a call to encourage an overcall. KQs does play well multiway. Plus, if we do hit the flop, the pots not all bloated and offering good odds to belly busters/mid and low pairs to call us an draw out. So I think I'd call and hope for some more customers. Also much easier to get away from if we do miss the flop.

Re: Play along.... street by street
At a loose, passive table I limp here. A raise behind me is relatively unlikely, and I want to see what the flop gives me before I let the pot get too big.
