Default Would you cap this river for value?

Villain has a VP$IP of 42.68, PFR of 2.44, and passive Postflop. A happy fish.

Party Poker 1/2 Hold'em (10 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is MP3 with A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].

Flop: (4.50 SB) 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (4 players)
BB checks, UTG+2 checks, Hero bets, Button folds, BB folds, UTG+2 calls.

Turn: (3.25 BB) A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
UTG+2 checks, Hero bets, UTG+2 calls.

River: (5.25 BB) 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
UTG+2 bets, Hero raises, UTG+2 3-bets, Hero calls.

Final Pot: 11.25 BB

I think playing A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] might've been too looose. I thought he was trying to be tricky or something on the river.

What are you exactly worrying about by not capping?

Does he have 33? Maybe.
Does he have A8? Maybe.
Does he have a flush? No.

This is fine. All it does is add more $$$ to the rake and sometimes you will be getting pwned by A8 or something.

He is agressive PF...so IMO with 33 he would have raised PF. With A8 he would have raised the turn too.

I would cap.

True but I could lose to monster occasionally. Is capping more EV in the long run?

Man, read that as $.5/1 for some reason.

The rake is already capped on this one once UTG+2 3-bets the river though (10BB capped at $1).
