Where to sit
Knowing there is a strong player at a table, is there an advantage to the position I sit in? That is, I used to think it was "safer" to sit immediately to the left of the strong player, but now I'm thinking it might be better to sit to his/her immediate right.

Re: Where to sit
Sitting to the right of a strong tight player is best. Your preflop raises will push him off hands you would prefer him not to play. Sitting to the left of a weak player who likes to raise a lot is best. You can pick your spots and attempt to isolate this player with a reraise preflop. You then have it heads up with position over a poor player. Of course if your table is not the type that will let you isolate this player, it's probably best to be far away from him.

Re: Where to sit
Thanks. That's what I thought, but I wondered if I was overlooking something! I was too passive in my play, but I've started to learn when to play more aggressively.
