Should I play stud at Stars instead???
I want to learn stud. Should I be playing at Stars instead of Party?
PP .50-1.00 w/.25 ante Stars .50-1.00 w/.05 ante I think I know the answer, but wanted to ask. |

Re: Should I play stud at Stars instead???
It depends on the limit, but both sites have their advantages at the lower limits. Party is nice and fishy, lot of big pots but also high variance, while Stars is for the most part more tight(sometimes very weak-tight), but a good place to start for a beginner. So if just beinning then yeah go to Stars.

Re: Should I play stud at Stars instead???
The ante in Party's $.50/1.00 game is so high as to skew your perception of how poker is played. Stars' antes are a little too low until you get to $30/60, but they're much more in line with a "real" poker game. I also like Stars' software better. If you can play $1/2, do, but if it has to be $.50/1.00, play Stars.

Re: Should I play stud at Stars instead???
I learned how to play Stud/Stud 8 in Full Tilt's .25/.50 game, it has pretty small bringins/antes but there aren't always games going. If it is only between Stars/Party I'd go Stars just because the structure is way better.

I'd recommend stars for .5/1 party at this level is an ugly structure.

Cera (where is she?) recommends you shouldn't play less that 2-4 on Party.

Full Tilt does have the best stud structure of any site I'm aware of. The down side is that they don't have that many games.
