Default Not a swing, but a plateau

I know the topic of swings has been discussed at length, but I have a question that is not posed quite as often.

Rather than looking at a "swing," that is, a high point compared to a low point, I want to ask about "plateaus," or breaking even after x hands.

Does anyone have any thoughts on what a typical plateau looks like? Personally, my situation is that I believe I am theoretically beating my game soundly but I am about even after 6000-8000 hands. Anyone care to comment?
