Default AKo out of BB

Any suggestions on how to play this hand better?

Villain is loose and aggressive but a decent player overall.

I think my turn bet was kind of weak but I played a very similar (and very UGLY) hand earlier where I check-called flop, led the turn, was raised - I called, I led the river, was raised, called and was shown KK (so that hand was in the back of my mind here).

Any read on UTG? Would he raise 55, 66 or 88 UTG? How about KQ? Do you think he would flat call your flop bet with AA, AK or KK given the heart draw and a player yet to act? Your real fear should be A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. I think A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] could be making a play on your weakish turn bet. I like check calling a bet on the turn and river with no heart.

Can someone please explain to me why or why not folding here is good? I think a better line is to check call the flop and pot it on the turn if no heart comes. I don't have a problem folding to a turn raise with this line but the way it played out I feel like you are giving too much up by folding.

I would try to keep this pot small by check-calling as much as possible. You welcome an overcard on the turn, and if opponent has a pair he's got 2 outs -- it's only if he's got something in hearts that you're not happy with moderate betting on this flop.

Given that you led the flop, I too think your turn bet was too small. It doesn't charge MP for his draw, for one thing. If I'm the raiser, I might think that YOU are on hearts, and pop you with just about anything.
