Re: Two weird hands vs skilled 2+2\'er
Hand 1
I like the turn call. I can't imagine that the 2+2er will call the river bet. So you are going for a single overcall from Donk. I think you have to raise the river. Nobody will be able to put you on a hand. The donk might call 2. And by calling you miss out on the chance to go 4 bets against a set. Hand 2 I like the plan up to the river fold. I know there are spots where when a player bets he can have a wide range of hands but when he 3-bet that narrows the range considerably. There is no way I could narrow his range to the point where he beats top set. I think an underset is about 5 times as likely as a flush. I can't imagine not being good here 1 in 9. Krishan |

Re: Two weird hands vs skilled 2+2\'er
1) why is this weird? relative position makes it hard to get a raise in when you can get the overcalls. depending on how extreme of a payoff donk CO is, I may consider raising river.
2)Looks like an agressively played flop flush draw to me. Getting river 3bet here sucks. If you are certain that 2'er doesn't 3bet with a worse hand on river... your river decision has to be correct. If he can 3bet worse, I'd have to call. |

Re: Two weird hands vs skilled 2+2\'er
i hate not raising a hand that was happy to raise the flop, turn, or river on the first one - i dont care if god raised UTG+1
ultimately if the second one happens to me it goes in the messed with AA and got punished basket - seems weird to fold to the river 3 bet - if i was the other guy i might be wondering why you didnt raise your flush on the turn stripsqueez - chickenhawk |

Re: Two weird hands vs skilled 2+2\'er
Why would you ever want to raise flop or turn in hand #1?

Not raising the turn in both hands looks terrible to me. I'd be interested in hearing your justificaton.

Re: Two weird hands vs skilled 2+2\'er
Why raise the turn in hand 1? I think raising the turn would be really terrible. Most of the time you raise the turn to extract more money from drawing hands. But there aren't a lot of draws on this board especially since you have 2 hearts. Also the 2+2er almost certainly will call with his 6 outs for 1 (he's drawing dead) and will fold for 2. I think it's a clear call and river raise.

Re: Two weird hands vs skilled 2+2\'er
An argument for raising the turn in hand 2 could certainly be made, but the smooth call in hand 1 is way better than raising. His opponents are likely drawing dead and by smoothcalling he can get 2 overcalls, vs. a raise which may only get him one BB from the initial bettor. Likewise, he may not get any action on the river, which he most certainly will with the smooth call.

JR, Where are you?
i have been in situations where i have started going for overcalls on the turn. i beleive i was convinced that this was not correct. i don't know if that would apply here or not. I would like to see J.R.'s take here.
