3 bet the turn?
Party 5/10 6max.
Preflop: Hero is MP with 9c, Ac. 1 fold, Hero raises, 3 folds, BB calls. Flop: (4.40 SB) As, Qd, 8h (2 players) BB checks, Hero bets, BB calls. Turn: (3.20 BB) Ad (2 players) BB checks, Hero bets, BB raises, Hero ... ? I have Villain as an aggressive regular with 30 VPIP/10 PFR. Best to 3-bet or call? I'm afraid of him capping when I am behind. My thinking is: If he's bluffing, 3 betting loses a bet. If he has a weaker ace, 3 betting gains a bet or two. If he has a house or a stronger ace, I lose 2 bets. It seems pretty close to me, but what do you think? |

Re: 3 bet the turn?
I usually call here and raise the river. This way you wont blow off a bluff, but you can still get an extra bet from an Ace that is weaker. THey are also less likely to 3bet the river without a boat or AK/Q.

Re: 3 bet the turn?
He could have an ace, but you beat most of them. AT or AJ is a possibility but AQ and AK almost def. 3bet preflop. I like to wait til the river to raise for the aforementioned reasons.
Also, if you are beat a river raise is less likely to be 3bet by a better hand because AK, AJ, AT could fear you spiked a full house. -SmileyEH |
