Default Is Jerry Buss\' play not terrible?

In his post on the big game, Sklansky said Jerry Buss' play was not terrible.

From the depictions on TV in the celebrity and heads up tournaments, he seems reasonably good at the strategy of playing the hand. However, there are certain basic things he seems to be doing wrong. He seems to give off too much information or tells. He doesn't open raise preflop. In the celebrity tournament, he seemed to be playing for the limpraise when the money wasn't deep enough for that. He also seemed a little weak tight and predictable.

When Sklansky said his play wasn't terrible, I assume he meant that Buss understood basic strategy and was calling station or anything. His game didn't seem real pollished.

I watched him head's up against Layne Flack and he played like a retard, limping AK and checking when missing the flop and folding when being bet into, and being basically bluffed off a billion hands by Flack. I'm amazed he got as far as he did, he truly is a poker retard.

Those few hands shown on TV are clearly indicative of his play as a whole. While his plays there were AWFUL, it doesn't mean he always plays that way. He may just suck heads up in big tournaments.

He probably doesn't play headsup much, it is not easy to do against Danny N and Layne Flack.
