UB 10-25, I have 7k, villain has about the same. We have been going at it for hours, first a hu grudge match where he got lucky in a few but I maintained. Now we are 6 handed and I've been getting the better of him. He is getting aggravated. One limp and he raises pot on button. I call with JJ in SB.
Flop AQ6 two tone, (200ish) I lead for pot, villain calls. Turn Jo I check/call 400 River Ao Action???????????????? Pot is about 1.5k we have about 6k left. |

I don't understand why you check-called turn...woulnd't it better to keep betting or check raise?
given how it's played, I think you need to check-call the river as well... |

He had a habit of taking the pot away on the turn, so I thought I'd check/call. I feel like a cr let's him off way too easy if he is just doing this with air, which he had somewhat of a tendency to do when we were playing hu. If I lead, and he called what would your default river play be?

default play would be to bet the pot. I'm not sure what I'd do againt a raise though...I'm afraid to say but it may be correct to fold to a raise on the river, against most sane players at least.
I think the problem with 'punishing' his turn-take away by check-calling is simply that you fail to build a big pot with a monster hand especially being OOP with alot of potential action-killer cards to come on river. play big hands for big moneyzz..not some bluff inducer (unless stack size allows you to let him bluff off his stack). |

Betting the turn would have made it easier to find out if he had an A. I guess you should bet pot on the river and I'm not sure what to do if he pushes.

I don't like the turn c/r because it does let him off too easily. Lead turn, lead river. I don't like the flop lead what's the plan if you don't hit the turn?

The flop bet is a bluff.

If you're checking turn to induce the bluff he's been pulling, and don't raise because you don't want him to get off his hand easy.. then what is the problem on the river? Is AQ really a hand he'll get blown off on with a raise on the turn?
