Default Quick rule check- pair on 4th in structured betting

In 7stud and 7stud/8, in a game such as 10/20, I wanted to confirm my understanding of the rules concerning bets:

On 4th street, if a pair shows, the high hand can open for $20 or $10

If the pair opens for $10, what can the next seat raise it to- $20, $30 or $40?
If the first raiser can and does make it $20, can the next raiser make it $40?

I'm assuming that 5th street takes care of this question for later rounds.
Thanks

In stud/8, all bets on fourth street are the minimum, in this case $10, whether there is a pair showing or not.

This might vary from room to room, but in high-only stud, you can bet either amount when there is a pair showing on fourth street, but once a maximum bet or raise has been made, all subsequent raises must be of the maximum amount. So if there is a $10 bet, the next guy can raise $10 or $20, but if he raises $20, the next guy must raise $20 (if he's going to raise), so

If the pair opens for $10, what can the next seat raise it to- $20, $30 or $40?

$20 or $30, but not $40.

If the first raiser can and does make it $20, can the next raiser make it $40?

Yes. Also, if the pair checks, all other players have the option of making a minimum or a maximum bet. Hope that helps.

In the 10-20 stud/8 game that goes down Tuesday nights at the Outpost Casino in San Ramon, Calif., an open pair on 4th street means that the high hand (or anyone else) can bet or raise in either 10 or 20 increments. If the opener bets 10, a raiser can raise 20 to 30.

This is the only club I've ever played where this rule applied in stud/8, although I'm told some clubs play this way in Washington.

PS: it's a great little game. Come on down!
