Ruling?
The river action is complete... player B throws his cards face down in the direction of the muck (out of turn) (they do not touch the muck)... player A then turns his cards face up to reveal a 9 high... player B then retrieves his hand to reveal a K high... who is awarded the pot?

Re: Ruling?
In the future A should wait for the pot to be pushed to him before showing his hand, and/or just not show it at all.

Re: Ruling?
definitely the 9 high wins. otherwise it just opens you up to angle shooting. (what if Khigh was going to check fold [definitely what he would of done if his fold out of turn was in earnest] and 9 high would have bet the river)

Re: Ruling?
How was his fold out of turn if they were at showdown? As in, player A was the aggressor and was therefore supposed to show first but instead player B just mucked?
If his hand wasn't in the muck and the dealer hadn't awarded the pot yet, doesnt that mean his hand isn't dead? (I don't actually know, I'm asking to clarify) And why didn't the dealer muck his hand once he made the action of the mucking toss? |

How was his fold out of turn if they were at showdown? [/ QUOTE ] Player A was first to act and supposed to be (due to action on pervious street) first to show...and Player B threw his cards face down in the direction of the muck before Player A showed. If you were wondering... Player B called just because he wanted to see Player A cards (this was his frame of mind). |

[/ QUOTE ] This occurred in a short-handed home game in which neither Player A or B was dealing. Player B tossed his cards moments before Player A showed his hand. The dealer did not yet have a chance to pull Player B's hand in to the muck. |

Re: Ruling?
It depends where you are.
At what used to be Harrahs in IN, they had problems like this all the time. They went to extremes for a while and said that ANY forward motion of the cards is a muck. I haven't played there in a while, but it did make for some interesting scenes. |

Re: Ruling?
I am pretty sure the 9 high wins because B clearly intended to fold. However I could see it being some technical BS where B's hand is not considered a fold because it did not hit the muck. I would consider that an angle shoot.
