Default Five Stud: Ma & Pa Ferguson

I have just discovered a couple of games called Ma Ferguson and Pa Ferguson. The former is Five Stud with the lowest card on either an individual's board or the boards collectively wild and all others like it. Pa Ferguson is exactly the same but the highest card is wild and all others like it. I need to know is it that each individual board gets its highest/lowest upcard as wild or is it the the board collectively. So if Abe and Charlie have an Ace each then that Ace is wild for both of them but if Abe has an Ace and Charlie has a King then only Abe has the wild card or is it that the Ace is wild for Abe and the King for Charlie?

Also, there is a game called Uncle Doc which is Five Stud with a spit card which is wild (and so are all others like it) but when is the spit card dealt?
