Default Playing cards for home games?

I host a weekly home game and have experimented with different cards. Seems like about 3 nights is the most I can get out of two decks before they are too funky to use again.
Does anyone use any of the plastic cards? Are they washable? Do they last longer?
Thank you!

My home game has been using 2 KEM decks for about 20 tournaments now. They haven't needed to be washed and there's very little wear on them at all. I'd say the extra money you put in for plastic cards is well worth the investment, not only for the durability but for the fact that it is also easier to deal/shuffle the plastic decks.

"Bee" brand playing cards are the highest quality for poker out of all the regular decks. If you haven't tried those then give them a shot. In second place is probably Tally-Ho, followed by Bicycle. These are all made by the U.S. Playing Card Co. Don't bother buying imitation brands that sell for $1. Of course, Kems will last you the longest, but these are the only alternatives IMHO.

Just put down the $25 and get a pack of KEM. You'll never need another deck.

I love KEM's. They are temporarily out of business right now, but you can still get them at some stores.

I can personally recommend Kems and Copags decks.

Royal plastic cards didn't work well for us.

Split the cost between the group- you'll be happy you invested in them.

Not at all true. Kems eventually fall victim to warping, inadvertant nail/impact/scratch marks, and sometimes stickiness. They should last for many months of regular play, though.

I'd recommend copags. Kem's are great too.

Finally played with The copags yesterday, they are sweet, if they dont warp I prefer them over the KEMS, they are less sticky & slide pretty well, they dont have my preferred poker size yet but I hear its coming, COPAG OR KEM, worth the Dollars every time
