About half of this is a matter of me playing stakes that don't matter too much to me and making a lame trifecta attempt. The other half is from Sklansky on Razz, about getting an extra bet on the end by letting your opponent think he might have or make the best hand when in fact he's drawing dead. I suspect I may have been called down here anyway, though.

interesting strategy, I made a similar post some time ago after I discovered Sklansky on Razz as well (which is the razz bible, and the second best book for triple draw strategy even though there is no content on TD in the book). I like the move on the right opponent, from your read I cannot tell if this was the right opponent however.

don't like the turn check. given that he didn't 3-bet you the street before i think its gonna be rare (at least from my experience) that you'll get him to bet the next street. i think he's more interested in seeing showdown cheaply at this point.

also if you manage to checkraise him here, you may get him to fold where before he'd be willing to call the turn and river.

The check-raise attempt is just silliness. The interesting aspect of the check is as a method to get an extra bet when he otherwise would just fold the turn, which I think a pat starting hand will be doing a lot.
