Default No end in sight!

No real hand history posts to post. This is more of a what should I do post.

A year ago I was a 2-4 limit player who burned through his bankroll on a big downswing. I dont have any stats for my play there but I was underfunded with only a 400 bankroll. I went up to 900 before I spent half of it and then my downswing hit and gobbled up the rest. 3 months ago I decided loaded up with $100 and hit the .50 - 1.00. I did pretty good running it up to $300 before hitting a wall and slowly bled off all of that bankroll. My stats over 2500 hands showed me as a semi loose agg/passive player. Ok, I decided to really look at my game.
I bought poker tracker loaded my hands studied and I found out I win money in every other position but the blinds. I vowed to fold more from the blinds. I also saw that I was playing second pair too much. I cut that out too.
Two weeks ago I reloaded with 300 bucks and went after it vowing to play Tight Agressive. Well I have. After losing $75 on Empire I went to UB and tried to change my bad luck. No dice. I got beaten up for $50 there over the weakend. Two hands explaing my long losing streak.
AA on ragged flop losing to K,10o when he runner runner's two pair. Or flop the wheel and lose to runner runer flush who didn't even have any bussiness in the hand to begin with. Thats been my luck. Now for some recent stats.
last 1500 hands VP$P= 20% W$WSD=29% PFA=6.5 AGGF=2.2 W$WSF 221% AMT Won -$184.

Ok. Am I cursed? How long can this go on. A year ago I was a winning player at 2-4. Now I just bleed chips with winning hands over the last 6 months. I am sooo frustrated. Im ready to kill a live chicken if I have too. Someone please tell me that 5000 hand 400 bb downswings are fairly normal. I am pretty sure thats how long this one has lasted.

Any help is appeciated. I would be willing to e-mail my db to the right person to look over. I know I have some leaks, but those are minor.

The reason why you went bust the first couple times is because you dont have a big enough BR. That big of a downswing is definetly not normal. Your last 1500 hands shows us nothing, you need to up the sample.

Oh boy...

I vowed to fold more from the blinds.

Folding more in the blinds will not help you win more money. I hope this is obvious.

[ QUOTE ]
I also saw that I was playing second pair too much. I cut that out too.

[/ QUOTE ]

This conclusion / generalization may be partly true, but you won't improve at poker by making sweeping generalizations about how to play abstract situations like "i will just fold my second pairs from now on".

[ QUOTE ]
vowing to play Tight Agressive. Well I have.

[/ QUOTE ]

I doubt this, but since we are generalizing everything anyway, why not believe this for the time being.

What the hell does this mean? Is it like when I ask for a new setup every time I don't win a hand at the casino for 10 minutes? Superstitious BS.

Two hands explaing my long losing streak.

[/ QUOTE ]

I doubt this too.

[/ QUOTE ]

No.

How long can this go on.

[/ QUOTE ]

If you are not a winning player I expect it to go on for roughly forever.

No you weren't.

[/ QUOTE ]

If you say so.

No they aren't. I mean they really really aren't.

I doubt this.

There can be many explanations for a downswing. Bad luck can be one. Bad play can be another.

Post hands, and we can try to figure out what is going on.

Dude how can you lose if you are winning 221% of the time you are seeing the flop?

Seriously, your sample size is tiny, your W$WSD is way too low (you're probably not folding enough weak made hands). Read SSHE, reevaluate your play, play a little, read SSHE, post hands, and play some more. If you're not doing better by then rinse and repeat.

We notice everytime we get a unlucky break. When we get lucky we call it skill. I don't want to sound like I am critizing you. I have followed the same path you discribe and I am not a winning player yet. But I have learned one thing so far, listen to the donkey.

Zing!

The best thing you can do is post some hands on these boards. Also, read the discussions from hands that others post. If you have specific questions about any hands, ask them. If you have an opinion on how something should be played, post it. If you're wrong, someone will tell you and point out why. Being an active participant in these forums is very +EV.

Have you considered moving down in limits until you've plugged your leaks?

Amen to all of that, including listening to Donkey. Also Shillx, Btspider, GregJ and many others.
