K 10 play - correct or not
Hi I played this in a recent 10 player SNG tournament but it left me basically crippled after I folded. Just wondering if I should have gone in with the raise at all and then whether my continuation bet was correct:

Re: K 10 play - correct or not
Fold preflop. Getting involved in this hand is really bad.

Re: K 10 play - correct or not
definitely fold preflop. UTG with KT. yech.
oh man theres lots of bad things going on here. if you are gonna come in, limp or push. dont raise for 25% of your stack with a hand that cant stand a reraise. ideally, fold. on the flop, youve got 900 chips left. dont bet out for a third of it with a hand that has to fold to a push. either push here or check/fold this hand. ideally, check/fold. |

This is the worst of the "have an attempt at stealing the blinds" yet. Bloody awful.

Re: K 10 play - correct or not
Fold pre-flop. Fold KJ and KQ UTG too. I'd also fold AT and probably AJ. So that's about how much you need to tighten up, in general.
12xBB is a tough stack size to play. You're going to be pushing most hands you come in with, unless you have a hand that's good enough so that you want action. KT does not fall into that category. The reason that you don't want action on most hands is because you're out of position and the pot is going to be large enough so that any opposition will be interested in picking it up. Those 2 factors, along with your stack size, are going to make the hand very difficult to play post-flop. So I'd try to eliminate post-flop decisions with a push or a fold, unless I had a hand like AA, KK, and maybe QQ. Anything else I come in with, I'm pushing. |

Re: K 10 play - correct or not
I'd rather raise with an hand like 96o in late position than raise with K10 UTG, unless the table has proven very timid. That isn't going to happen in a $2 tournament.

Re: K 10 play - correct or not
Fold preflop. Fold Preflop. Fold Preflop. Fold Preflop.
There, now we don't need 3 more replys telling you to fold preflop. |
