Re: A classic
Mandatory push after his raise on the flop unless you know something that isn't included in the original post.
If your opponents realize (and some, at this level, can) that you can be pushed around with a hand as good as AA with a weak uncoordinated flop like this one, you are in for some tough sledding. Marlow |

Re: A classic
Why on earth is this an autofold? If you are folding turn, then plz fold flop.

Mandatory push after his raise on the flop [/ QUOTE ] Is the push mandatory due to meta-game-aspects (People pushing me around if i dont make a stand) or to + expected value in this particular hand? //Pug |

Re: A classic
Put yourself in villains shoes. How often do you check-raise a set on that harmless board? Probably not that often, he most likely has a big jack or maybe a smaller overpair. You're good better than 50% of the time here so get your money in the pot.

Re: A classic
You are ahead here far more often than behind. The only question is, how to extract the max? With position, I'd flat call the turn then get it all in on the river.

Re: A classic
I think you guys are missing something at 5/10 this is an insta push b/c people are raising here with more than a set and 2/4 NL this is a close fold b/c the rest of players are playing very weak-tight. I call b/c an overpair is likely but its a close decision given the general play at 2/4. I noticed the majority of the posters thus far are 5/10 and higher regulars. The play is drastically different at the two levels. As for metagame of being pushed around there are only a handful of players at 2/4 smart enough to realize that if you can't value bet you need to bluff.

The play is drastically different at the two levels. [/ QUOTE ] I agree. Which is why 2/4 hands just won't get the best comments at MHNL. I honestly believe that the SSNL forum can beat 2/4 for a better rate than the MHNL forum. And yes, I think this hand is at least pretty close to a muck. Against some people, it's instamuck on the flop. Against unknown, I probably call flop and fold to further aggression. If he has TP, he usually checks the turn. |
