three 2-4 6max hands
This table is tight and lacking imagination. Probably a lot of weak tighties, but there aren't many showdowns so I have surprisingly little information about the players.
I have been playing controlled. To be honest, its because of the stakes. I normally play 1-2 on a smallish bankroll because I am paying for a lot of stuff with my poker money and am therefore hovering around 2k. I have a lot of gamble in me and felt like playing $2-4 so I did. HAND 1 PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $4 BB (6 handed) converter BB ($104.45) Hero ($670.85) MP ($346.80) CO ($796.85) Button ($484.75) SB ($553.95) Preflop: Hero is UTG with 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. Hero raises to $12, 2 folds, Button calls $12, 1 fold, BB calls $8. Flop: ($38) 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players) BB checks, Hero bets $25, Button calls $25, BB calls $25. Turn: ($113) 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players) BB bets $4, Hero calls $4, Button folds. This was a wierd spot. I was afraid to raise because of the button so I decided to call. River: ($121) 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players) BB checks, Hero bets $64 This is putting him all in. I felt like my turn call could easily mean I had AK or AQ here. HAND 2 PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $4 BB (6 handed) converter UTG ($91.45) Hero ($663.85) CO ($518.80) Button ($818) SB ($422.70) BB ($458.95) Preflop: Hero is MP with 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. UTG calls $4, Hero calls $4, CO raises to $20, 3 folds, UTG folds, Hero calls $16. Don't get upset Flop: ($50) A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero checks, CO bets $32, Hero raises to $80, CO calls $48. I really didn't know what to do here. Check-folding was definitely a possibility but I felt that villain would be betting the flop with a lot of hands that I beat like KK-99 and KQ. I thought that if I just called here I would have no idea how to play it on the turn. Also I think my play may look like a set. Turn: ($210) 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero bets $116, CO folds. Continued my flop play, and now I have a decent draw. HAND 3 PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $4 BB (5 handed) converter SB ($39.45) Hero ($709.85) UTG ($150.80) MP ($1041.85) Button ($449.55) Preflop: Hero is BB with Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. UTG calls $4, MP raises to $8, Button calls $8, SB calls $6, Hero calls $4, UTG calls $4. Flop: ($40) K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (5 players) SB checks, Hero checks, UTG checks, MP bets $12, Button raises to $24, SB folds, Hero calls $24, UTG folds, MP calls $12. Turn: ($112) 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players) Hero checks, MP bets $28, Button raises to $56, Hero calls $56, MP raises to $160, Button calls $104, Hero raises to $677.85 Standard? Some kind of wierd decisions because CO and button were betting strangely. I included this because I felt it was interesting that button called with 93 and might shed some light on how he read my play. Button called I was afraid that he had 22 but... Hero has Qd 8d (flush, king high). Button has 3d 9h (two pair, kings and nines). Outcome: Hero wins $1367.40. |

Re: three 2-4 6max hands
Hand 1 is perfect. or so I think. Well, it's how I play it. Although sometimes I fold preflop. I think I fold more then I play it.
Hand 2 the flop checkraise is so bad. Check-folding is better. Check-calling is better. Leading out/folding is better. Given how you got to the turn I guess it's good, of course a raise there once you pick up a draw really is troublesome. Hand 3 I try not to draw to non nut flushes on paired boards when someone minraised. The straight pot odds aren't even that great. I also lead at this pot alot of the time. Another thing about the flop, your action to anyone REASONABLE looks like a flush draw, and you're not closing the action. generally that is a bad bad lfop call, but you have better game selection skills then I do. |

Re: three 2-4 6max hands
hand1.
the other reason not to raise is that due to his short stack, he might just decide to call you with the heart draw and beat you with K high. I seriously don't think an ace is folding the river. why would they call preflop if they are going to fold this river to half pot bet? hand 2. I have a feeling this is not how you play your sets. hand 3. I generally don't like drawing to non nut flush with paired board but to each his own. I don't think turn play can be disputed here. you have to do this to make your flop call profitable. |
