Hand 1, fine. Raise and call a three bet.

Hand 2 He better be really bad and donkalicious for me to call down with AK on that board.

I'd call in hand 2 if only because maniacs tend auto-bet any paired board thinking they're fooling you by representing a set.

[edit] Didn't realise you were the one that led preflop/flop - not so sure about the call then, i think i'd decide on how he was playing before this hand - how many stop'n'go's hes tried/how tricky he is etc.. [/edit]

Hand 1: Maybe better to raise turn and call down if he 3-bets. More likely he has a straight draw than an actual draw. But the way you played it seems OK too. Definitely raise river when you spike your set.

Hand 2: I dunno. But I think your key decision is on the turn. Once you call there I think you're committed to calling river. Without the gutter, I probably fold the turn. As it is, I probably call it down and hate it when he shows 44 or some crap like that.
