Hand from early in 55: MTT on party
I play tons of stts and I want to start doing more mtts so I am new to posting here.
Villan Button ~1000 Villan CO ~1000 Villan BB ~1000 Hero EP ~825 Hero raises 125 preflop 3 callers 4 way flop K T 3 rainbow, 500 chips Hero pushes 700, Villan Co calls, Villan Button calls with QJ, Villan BB folds I dont like villans call preflop, but is it justifiable on the flop? He is calling 700 to win 1900, and probably has a 20-25% chance of winning. However, is it worth it for him to take this negative ev gamble because its early and he can gain a big stack? Would it be a call if he were calling 700 to win 2200? |

Re: Hand from early in 55: MTT on party
the PF call is too loose for me. I'm more than willing to peal off 5-8% of my stack with a hand like 56s, 33, a3s, but 12% with, I assume, QJo is too much. The flop is a no-brainer call. You have a 31% chance of making the nut str8. Redraws may bring you down to about 30% equity. Getting over 3:1 on his money means he needs about 24% eq to make this a call.

Re: Hand from early in 55: MTT on party
Correct me if i'm wrong...but that math doesn't seem right to me. He has 8 outs to the nut straight, a little under 5:1 to improve. The pot is only offering a little under 3:1 odds. Isn't this -EV? Sorry if this doesn't make sense i'm just confused. Thanks
