Question about Fantasy Football and RB\'s
It is my understanding that RB's are so strong and everybody drafts nothing but the first few rounds.
I dont get why. If its because the league scoring system, then why hasnt the FF standard for scoring changed. Do something to make all positions become a little closer in importance. Give me a good reason why RB's and the current system is right. rJ |

Re: Question about Fantasy Football and RB\'s
The reason is because in a 12 team league which uses 1 QB, 2 RB, and 3 WR (fairly typical), the dropoff from the top RB to the #25 RB is bigger than the dropoff from the #1 QB and the #13 QB as well as the dropoff from the #1 WR to the #37 WR.

Re: Question about Fantasy Football and RB\'s
Also, consider the supply and demand of the situation. Let's say it's a 10 or 12 team league with a strating lineup required of 1 QB, 2 RB and 3 WR. That means teams need 10+ QBs, 20+ RB and 30+ WR.
With 32 NFL teams, they're are basically 32 starting QBs, 32 starting RB, and 64 starting WR. Right away you can see which situation is going to be "tighter". Take away a few RB positions that are unsettled or likely to split time and the quality RB pool becomes even smaller for fantasy drafts. |
