Default Quail-eating bet

Quail bet story

It was agreed by everyone that there is something about quail that does not allow a person to eat a quail a day for more than a couple of weeks. The longest stint anyone could remember somebody eating a quail a day was 17 days.

I've talked about this bet w/ a few friends. Multiple guys have offered to take me up on this bet because they cannot believe it is a big deal to eat one measly quail every day for a month.

Anyone know anything about this?

This was a classic sucker bet for high stakes poker players, as I can remember.

The only time it was 'beat', was a time indentical twins took some guy for 100,000 grand I believe, obviously by switching everyday.

I'll try to find the story about that, and also the scientific reasoning of why it is impossible.

Make the guy wash it down with a gallon of milk each day, and you should be in the money.

I already knew all of the above. This is what I am looking for, to find out if this is really a tough bet or if it is just a fish story.

I didnt click the link, so maybe it says it in the article, but this story is covered by amirillo slim in his auto birography (which is a pretty good read, IMO)

i still don't understand why you can't eat quail for longer. all the story says is

"You’re sick to death of it in no more than 17 days"

do you get physically sick from it, or is it just so gross that no one can do it? what's the deal

The meat is too tough for your stomach to digest every day for a month.
