session records - want to make database.
Hi,
I want to start keeping better records. Instead of using a spreadsheet I would like to use a database program. I would pretty much want to extend the functionality of statking. Now, I have not used a database program since the days of dbase III. What is the current standard ? Is microsoft access a good option ? Any open source alternatives - I do like linux, but since this is purely for poker I would like to be able to run it from xp and maybe have it communicate with pokertracker. Bubu |

Re: session records - want to make database.
PokerTracker keeps session data by table.

Re: session records - want to make database.
PT uses Access, so if PT integration is big on your list, go with that. I also use Access DBs for all my little VB and web projects. My DBA friend swears by MS SQL Server, it is -awsome- what it can do (query analyzer and profiler are insanely useful, and the engine itself is way faster than access), but it's an expensive little f-er.
I was looking for some free or opensource windows DB programs a year or so ago, and nothing really did it for me. |
