Re: 2/4 trips hand
Barring a read, I'll probably bet the turn and play this pot. He's only got about 240 left. Bet pot, call all-in. It's four handed, he's probably got something with the 8.

That was me you played/play against. Tough hand. I think I misplayed it. I'll post my thoughts later

Bet the turn, potsized, and get all the money in asap. You are ahead most of the time here.

Re: 2/4 trips hand
Hero bet $90 on turn, I raised all in and hero quickly folded. I had 98o.
I checked the turn because I had no idea what to do and I didnt know if I wanted to play a big pot (too late). I respected hero's play and knew he had an 8, 77 or a draw (unlikely). I hoped hero would check it through and give me a cheap showdown. When he bet I convinced myself that there was a good chance, that I had the best hand and raised all in (bad). I expected that some worse hands would call and so would all hands that had me beat. I think hero should bet the turn (milking bet) - because my turn check usually means that I am weak - and call if I raise all in. Betting and folding to a push is not good. The pot was $510 and it was only $160 to call. And there are a lot of players at this limit that fall to much in love with trips... |

Re: 2/4 trips hand
yeah that fold getting over 3:1 is ridiculous. hands with 8's: 86 87 89 8T 8J... you beat most of those. call the all in since you didn't check behind on the turn.
