Default The double pump.

7.50-15.00 home game. Thought I’d write up this hand, since a fellow two + two’er said he would have given up on the flop. Anyhow, I was in late position with pocket 7’s. There were two limpers to me, I limp, and a blind comes along.

Flop is Q62 rainbow.

First to act grabs three chips, makes a forward motion, pulls his hand back like he is going to check, and then changes his mind and bets. All this happened in the course of 2 seconds. One person folds, I raise, the blind folds, and the opener calls.

Turn is a 4.

Checked to me, I bet, he calls.

River is a 10.

Checked to me, and I check behind. Comments on all streets appreciated.

hi huh
it sounds like a fake hitch. your suppose to look for almost imperceptible little hitches as your opponent bets. sometimes an opponent will attempt to fake a hitch when he has a strong hand to fake you out into thinking that he's weak.

these fake hitches are always over-done by the actor, and you must rate your opponent as having a fairly strong hand.

At our home games, a move to your stack followed by clearly moving chips forward is a bet.

Well, if he isn't acting then he probably has a Q with a mediocre kicker and hesitated because he remembered your pre-flop raise.

I assume you play with this guy a lot in the home game, so you should have a good idea of what kinds of hands he will bet in this situation. I would just make a read and go with it.

I put him on A-6 or K-6 and I bet into him on the river...
I probably lose money, but the slightest scent of weakness gets my hands movin' toward my stack.

Default Results.

You must have been at the game. Who is this?

Anyhow, my sevens were good. Opponent had K6. Fellow two-plus-twoer muttered, "Interesting way to play it...I would've just given im' credit for a Queen and mucked"...Which made me think.

I wasn't at the game, unless it was in St. Charles at the Ameristar and I was too drunk to remember it... that sort of thing is always a possibility.
