Default Insta call...right? 400NL

Been playing for an hour or so, villian is a very solid player, but can get emotional at times. he has been harassing this other player at the table by calling him "donkey" all night long and telling him to rebuy. about 20 minutes before, he played a boat very well to double up. so this play seems like he doesnt have a strong hand, but it is weird none the less. only one hand to worry about right...55? this is my first game at 400NL on party....at 200NL and 100NL I would insta call this, but just making sure....

and i called preflop because I was in position, and he respects me as a player from his talk. so far, if he checks or underbets pot, I would raise it up and 75% get a fold.

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (6 max, 6 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx

1 fold, MP raises to $15, CO calls $15, Hero calls $15, 2 folds.

Didn't read the introduction, but yes unless you know for certain he's only moving in with trip aces or 5's here.

Call. You win in the long run. You simply can't worry about situations like set over set. If you do you will miss a lot of opportunities to make $.

Sorry, though i was quick enough to edit it. Yeah i agree that this could be a concern but still insta-call.

When people move in like this it's usually BS. EXAMPLE:

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ Hero (6 max, 3 handed) pokerhand.org hand converter

Button ($359.85)
SB ($220.10)
Hero ($397)

Preflop: Hero is BB with 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $2.
Button raises to $15, SB (poster) calls $13, Hero calls $11.

Flop: ($45) T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players)
SB calls $205.10 (All-In), Hero calls $382 (All-In), Button calls $344.85 (All-In).

Turn: ($976.95) T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 players, 3 all-in)

River: ($976.95) 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 players, 3 all-in)

Final Pot: $976.95

SB has 2c 9c (two pair, tens and nines).
Hero has 8d 8c (full house, eights full of tens).
Button has Jd Js (two pair, jacks and tens).
Outcome: Hero wins $976.95.

not with his preflop raise....although this is a WEIRD way to play the hand for sure.

I can't see why he'd do this...the board isn't THAT scary considering it's only got a straight draw and that's if you called a raise with something fairly crappy in your hand. There is no flush draw on board....maybe he has something donkish like A5 here.......I'd call this and cross my fingers....if he's got AAA or 555 oh well, try to spike the case 2.

If you worry about monsters under your bed every night before you fall asleep, then worry about 55.

Not that much open-limping going on from the better players in $400nl 6-max, opening w/ small pocket pairs is definitly not unheard of.

Tough spot, I almost never lay down sets. Had a similar hand like this last weekend (2.6k pot, also nl400 that I posted here) where I in retrospect leaned for a fold.

Here you have to call IMO though. Why would he push with 55 or AA? But if he did, he maybe did a good play because we don't put him on that hand because he pushed...

One problem is you only have put $15 in the middle so far and why get broke.

I just can't see him do this play with AK if he's a solid player so what can he have?

As I said, tough spot, but I probably would had called, not 100% sure though (70% or so).
