Is it really that simple? What hands does the villain 3-bet with here that I beat???

Fat Nicky:

Why raise the turn? HU, against an unknown preflop 3-bettor out of the blinds, I like a call call call line, and bet any street if checked to.

I agree -- I like the check/call, bet if checked to line.

Given that you raised the turn and got 3-bet, I'd think you'd have to fold unless you think SB is capable of bluff-raising the turn.

After getting 3-bet, this is the first thing that popped into my head and I immediately disliked my line. If I call down, I invest the same 2 bets that I raised the turn with with no chance of being 3-bet, and I showdown my hand.

call the flop, call the turn, call the river. Bet if checked to.

If his preflop 3 bet is solid, raising the turn is bad because it allows him to dump a worse hand, punish you with a better one.

Does no one raise this flop? That would be my normal action but jeez, maybe i should rethink it.

Sure, raising the flop would be smart, and is definitly the default play here. My plan was the call the flop and raise a not threatening turn card. I know, it worked out awful here, but in the future, is this a smart play?? Thinking about it, i'm not so sure it is.
