Finally checked out Commerce- Trip Report

As some may remember(or may not) I posted before about only having been to Hollywood Park Casino. Last night I finally decided to check out Commerce.

Very nice place. Much nicer than Hollywood Park. When I first walked in, I was confused. I walked to one area and saw the board- nothing but high limit poker games. I asked a guy where the 2/4 hold em was, he pointed me to a whole different section of the casino I hadn't seen. This place is really huge. Morongo's poker room looks like a hole in the wall compared to this, and Imperial Palace's room doesn't compare either. Those are the only other two poker rooms I've been to besides HP.

Get on the list for 2/4, wait it out. Finally get seated, and the table is ok. Routinely 5 or 6 to the flop, occassionally 7 with me being the only folder. There is some crazy old guy, hopefully he doesn't post on 2+2, but he was talking ALL NIGHT. Arguing with EVERYONE. One classic exchange when our table went short a few players:

Old Guy: Can we break the table? We only have 5 players.

Floor Manager: I'll see what I can do.

OG: Break the table! There's only 5 of us!

FM: Ok, we have 5 open seats here, here, here, there, and there.

OG: We should draw for seats. Everyone draw a card!

FM: But sir, there are 5 open seats.

OG: Exactly! So what are you talking about drawing cards for!?!?

FM: YOU brought up drawing cards, not ME.

Lol, later on after our table broke up I end up at this guys table again. He starts talking to someone about how he was alive with Jesus(no joke) and also when a dealer mentions he is from China, the old guy starts to list all the inventions China ever made. He then goes on to say the dealer is going to Hell because he no longers lives in the mainland. The dealer laughs, and the old guy says "You're goin to hell. I'll be in heaven but I won't see you there." Under my breath I say "What makes him think he's goin?"

Ok enough from the crazy old guy(who I had at both my tables for the whole night).

Don't feel like typing out any hands really. I got Aces once, raise preflop, only one caller. GASP! Flop is AK9 I bet out, the guy folds and leaves the casino. What a waste!

Another hand. I have KQ of diamonds in the CO. Raise. 5 Callers. Flop is 494 rainbow. Everyone checks to me I bet 3 callers. Turn is a 10. Everyone checks, I bet, SB reraises. I'm the only caller. Turn is a J(the blessing and the curse.) He checks, I bet. He raises. We are heads up so there is no cap. I reraise. He reraises. I reraise. He says "Damn he must have the straight" and calls, mucks his trips 4s. No full house. I take down a MONSTER pot. Nice suckout on my part, but I don't think he played this hand to well. Coupled with the fact he bluffed at a few pots and called preflop with anything(he beat pocket Queens with 72o getting a straight) I didn't respect many of his plays.

All in all it was a good night. Played about 7 hours. Bought in with $90 and left with $202. Got no cards towards the end. I will probably wait until the weekend to go back, because I'm not sure how good the tables are during the week. Also, I get a lot of hours in online during the week as well. I have to check out the Bike as well now, although from what I hear Commerce is the better casino. I'm sure the Bike is better than HP though.
