Blind vs Blind Line Check
This is a hand from this morning's stars $100+9 NL tourney. We are down to 22 with 18 getting paid, avg stack is around 11k, I believe I am in about 4th or so. I have seen Villain play only one hand, paying off a shorter stack's fairly obvious set on the river with just TPNK. My image is probably a little loose as I've gotten pot stuck a couple of times and have had to call all ins with less than premiums.
Wondering what to make of the flop min-raise and whether I should be calling the river... Wondering what to make of the flop min-raise and whether I should be calling the river... [/ QUOTE ] Blind battles.. fun stuff. The flop minraise with position to me usually means villan wants a cheap showdown or a free card. His check behind on the turn seems to validate this. Since you checked your aces again on the river, you must call IMO, as you induced a potential bluff. |

Re: Blind vs Blind Line Check
Feels like a split pot to me. Most players I see play these blind battles horrendously, wouldnt be suprised to see him show JT-QT either. I like the passive approach here, you really arent getting anymore money from a hand you beat or getting a better hand to fold by betting out.

Re: Results
I was pretty surprised to see him flip TT for a flopped set, turned boat.
What do you all think of Villain's play here? |

Re: Results
I don't like BBs line at all. What does he accomplish by min raising the flop and checking the turn?
I think he gets more out of your Ax if he called the flop and possibly your turn bet. Then make a raise or bet on the river. All his min raise did was slow you down. |

Re: Results
I bet the turn approximately 0% of the time here if he flat calls the flop, but I think against most players that is the correct line.

Re: Blind vs Blind Line Check
Generally I'm going to raise slightly more from the small blind...to 1400 instead of 1200. It makes a big difference in terms of the number of hands BB will fold.
The flop and turn are fine, but I'm going to lead out for about 1/4 of the pot on the river as kind of a blocking bet. He can't really raise as we are threatening a nine, but this bet can also get value out of a 10 or some other small pair. That said, when you check and he bets I like the call. Will |
